My name is Melena McCabe. I am a liberal arts major at AUM focusing specifically on special effects makeup. Zombie makeup is where I am currently most skilled at; however, I am working on spanning out my skill set. I am also a nerd in many ways from video games, card games, television shows, anime and much more.
When it comes to nature I have many opinions. I am spiritual and many of my believes span from wicca. Even though I am not wiccan I believe in many things they believe when it comes to nature and life. Nature is in a sense life. We all live in the great circle of life. When we die we are put into the ground and we feed the grass. The grass is eaten by herbivores who are eaten by carnivores. Humans then eat the animals completing the circle only for it to start over. There are many forms and meanings of the word “nature.” but to me it simply means life. The term “life” is not as the biologists use the word. In science to be alive is to move, grow, and reproduce. Life is simply a form of energy. Energy can not be created nor destroyed but your physical form of life can. Rocks, water, air, dirt and even thoughts have their own energy. These things may not be alive but they have life. They support things in their environment and help them to live and survive in the circle of life. For most people if you simply go outside and look at the trees, feel the wind, smell the grass then you are in nature but for me, you are always in nature. Even if you live in a concrete jungle full of man made objects you can simply close your eyes and clear your mind. You then can transport yourself anywhere you want even if the place doesn't exist in the earth we know. You can find peace in this place and even smell, feel and experience the place as if it is reality. This is nature within the mind and is a simple thing that everyone has the power to do. I personally meditate and always place myself in peaceful clearing in the woods. The trees above canopy over the space leaving shadows as the sun casts over the leaves. That is where I find my peace in nature. I prefer areas of diverse types of life where I find my nature. Places like a beach, a park, a forest, these places bring peace and joy to me as well as a place to feel stress free and worry less about the trivial matters of my reality.
